- What is a CASA flight review?
- A CASA flight review is a biennial check of a pilot's skill and knowledge for a specific rating. It is not a flight test. Its purpose is to confirm you can still safely exercise the privileges of the rating. It used to be called a biannual flight review, or BFR.
- What happened to the BFR or biannual flight review?
- The BFR — biannual flight review — was the old name for what CASA now calls a flight review. The requirement is still the same: a review of your skills and knowledge every 2 years for each rating you want to keep current.
- How long is a CASA flight review valid for?
- A CASA flight review is valid for 2 years. To exercise the privileges of a rating, you must have completed a flight review for that rating within the last 2 years.
